Early Career and Debut in France
Seydou Keita, a prominent Franco-Malian footballer, began his professional journey in September 1999 with French club Marseille. Despite making a few appearances, he was later transferred to another French side, Lorient, where he established himself as a key player.
Breakthrough at Lens

Keita made his Barcelona debut in the Champions League against Polish side Wisla Krakow on August 13, 2008. He later debuted in La Liga on August 31 against Numancia. On November 16, he scored his first goal for Barcelona in an away match against Recreativo.
