A Journey Through Yoga with Sándor Rémete

Infancy and Early Beginnings

Sándor Rémete's life has been intertwined with yoga since his tender years. At age six, he delved into the ancient practice under the guidance of his father while residing in Serbia. His journey continued in Australia, where he moved with his family at age 17.

Martial Arts and Military Service

During the late 1960s, Rémete immersed himself in Eastern martial arts under the tutelage of masters from Okinawa. His military service in the Australian Army took him to the battlefields of Vietnam.

Awakening through B.K.S. Iyengar

Upon his return from Vietnam, a serendipitous encounter with B.K.S. Iyengar's book, "Light on Yoga," ignited a profound transformation. He embarked on a pilgrimage to India, eager to learn from the renowned master.

A Devoted Pupil

Rémete became one of Iyengar's most devoted pupils during his extended stay in Pune. His relentless practice, spanning many months, brought both fulfillment and unexpected challenges.

Exploration and Discovery

As his relationship with Iyengar matured, Rémete felt the need to explore yoga from a broader perspective. He delved into Siddha medicine, Marmastaan, Ayurveda, qigong, traditional Indian dance practices, and Natya Yoga.

Shadow Yoga: A Revolutionary Approach

Drawing upon his extensive research, Rémete developed Shadow Yoga, a groundbreaking approach to hatha yoga. This method emphasizes the exploration of the subtle aspects of the practice.

Sharing Knowledge

Rémete's vast knowledge and experience have made him a highly sought-after teacher. He conducts seminars worldwide, sharing his insights and inspiring countless students on their own yogic paths.
