Sharon Rina Lopatka, born as Sharon Denburg, was an American woman who met an untimely demise at her own request. She grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, in an orthodox Jewish family. At the age of 29, she married Victor Lopatka, a devout Catholic who convinced her to turn away from her Jewish upbringing and faith.

Sharon was involved in internet business and it was through this medium that she began searching for her own death. On October 16, 1996, she found what she was looking for when she met Robert Frederick Glass, a computer specialist from North Carolina. Tragically, their meeting ended in her death.

Even after Sharon's death and the subsequent investigation into her unusual demise, it was revealed that she actively sought out someone on the internet who would be willing to subject her to torture and eventually kill her. She engaged in negotiations with several men, but none of them met her criteria. Eventually, she settled on Glass and traveled to North Carolina to fulfill her disturbing sexual fantasies, which ultimately led to her demise. Glass tortured Sharon for several days, fulfilling her desires, and ultimately strangled her with a nylon cord.

Glass only confessed to intentional murder in January 2000, claiming that her death was an accident. He alleged that he was merely adjusting the cord around her neck during sex. However, this was not the only charge against Glass. He also possessed a significant amount of child pornography on his computer, which resulted in additional prison time. Despite this, Glass never served his full sentence, as he died from a heart attack in February 2002.
