Sherran Alexander: The Unconventional Sumo Wrestler
British sumo wrestlerA Unique Approach to Health and Fitness
The cult of healthy eating and maintaining a slim figure can be challenging for those with a curvaceous waistline hidden beneath layers of fat. However, some individuals not only embrace their weight but also turn it into an advantage. Meet 46-year-old Sherran Alexander, who consumes approximately 5000 calories per day (compared to the recommended daily intake of 2000 calories) and currently weighs 32 stone (approximately 203 kilograms).
Transforming Weight into Strength
For the past six years, Miss Alexander has been putting her weight to practical use in a rather unconventional way – by participating in women's sumo competitions. This sport is not particularly popular in the United Kingdom and the female version of it is relatively underdeveloped. Despite this, Alexander competes in various international tournaments without any external support. With the help of friends and family, Sherran regularly travels abroad to train, as maintaining her form requires rigorous exercise. Of course, diet plays a significant role as well, and Alexander carefully consumes her 5000 calories, predominantly indulging in her beloved Caribbean cuisine.
A Journey of Self-Love and Acceptance
Alexander first joined the British national team during a special television show aimed at finding four participants for the World Championship. Unfortunately, they were unable to find the required number of participants. However, this setback did not greatly disappoint Sherran. Eight years prior to this, she had gone through a divorce, and the subsequent years allowed her to heal emotional wounds and learn to love herself as she is. Through her sumo practice, Alexander was able to overcome any insecurities she had about her body. This sport demonstrated to her that significant weight, in skilled hands, becomes a formidable strength. The acquired strength helped Sherran regain self-respect. She no longer worries about her size; instead, she takes pride in who she is and what she can achieve on her own.
Challenges and Personal Life
Of course, some difficulties still remain, with the main one being the challenge of finding a suitable partner. Men of her stature are rare, and Alexander does not feel comfortable with shorter companions. However, it can be equally uncomfortable for shorter men to be in the company of such an outstanding lady. Despite these obstacles, Sherran Alexander continues to defy societal norms and embrace her unique journey as a sumo wrestler.
