Early Life and BackgroundAntonio Cattalinich, born Ante Katalinić on July 25, 1895, in Zadar (then part of Austria-Hungary), was an Italian rower of Croatian descent. Following World War I, Zadar became part of Italy, and Ante adopted the Italian spelling of his name as Antonio Cattalinich.
Olympic Success
At the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris, Cattalinich represented Italy in the eight-man rowing competition. Alongside his brothers, Frane and Šimun, he helped the Italian team secure a bronze medal. This marked a significant achievement in his rowing career.
Later Life
After his Olympic success, Cattalinich continued his rowing career in Italy. He passed away in 1972, leaving behind a legacy as a talented Italian oarsman.
