Biography of Sean Brown

Sean Brown, the Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at Google, began leading the company's commercial activities in 2003. Prior to joining Google, she spent a decade working in high-tech consulting in Toronto and Los Angeles at McKinsey and Company. At McKinsey, she served as a partner and led the Global Strategy Practice, collaborating with a wide range of firms to develop strategies, transform business models, and solve operational challenges.

With a strong background in consumer technology, software and hardware development, electronic consumer services, and the information technology market, Brown has extensive experience in the industry. She has taught at the Industrial Design Department and the Stanford Graduate School of Business, as well as conducted a mini-program for business master's students at McKinsey.

Brown is also an accomplished author, known for her bestselling book "Competing on the Edge: Strategy as Structured Chaos," which presents a new strategic model for competition in rapidly changing markets. Her articles are widely published in scientific and academic journals.

Sean Brown holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems Development from Clertona University in Canada and a Master's degree in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. She also earned a PhD degree and a Doctor of Engineering degree from the Stanford School of Engineering.
