Biography of Sia
Early Life and Career BeginningsSia Kate Isobelle Furler, known by her stage name Sia, is a contemporary Australian singer and songwriter in the genres of jazz, soul, jazz-funk, and pop. She was born in 1975 in Adelaide, South Australia. Sia's childhood was spent in Adelaide, where she began playing in a youth group that recorded two albums but did not achieve commercial success. Interestingly, Sia's father, Phil B. Colson, was a musician, and her mother, Loene Furler, was a singer, songwriter, and art lecturer.

Solo Career and Success
In 1997, Sia moved to Great Britain and began her solo career. That same year, she released her first album, "OnlySee," which did not make a significant impact commercially but caught the attention of industry professionals. Sia's second album, "Healing is Difficult," was released in 2000 and blended jazz and rhythm and blues. It achieved commercial success, reaching the 10th position on the British chart. However, Sia's joy was dampened by a dispute with the record label Sony Music, leading her to transition to Universal.

Recognition and Collaborations
In 2001, Sia released another album titled "Healing Is Difficult." She followed it up with the mini-album "Don't Bring Me Down" in 2003 and "Colour the Small One" in 2004, which featured her most famous song, "Breathe Me." Other notable songs that contributed to Sia's recognition include "Where I Belong," "The Bird and the Bee," "I'll Forget You," and "You've Changed." Throughout 2006, Sia toured extensively in North America, and around the same time, she began collaborating with the group Zero 7. Her album "Some People Have Real Problems" was released in 2008, and a year before that, Sia recorded the mini-album "Lady Croissant."

Peak of Career and Continued Success
Sia's fifth studio album, "We Are Born," was released in 2010 and marked the peak of her career. In the same year, she wrote several songs for Christina Aguilera's album, which turned out to be very successful. Her song "You've Changed" became her personal best-selling record. Additionally, the song gained popularity as the soundtrack for the hit TV show "The Vampire Diaries." Another song, "My Love," was specially created for the popular series "The Twilight Saga." Sia's compositions also began to be used in commercials.

Personal Life and Activism
It became known relatively recently that Sia is bisexual, which she did not hide but was not of public interest before her widespread success. Sia describes herself as a vegetarian and a passionate animal rights advocate. She is an activist for PETA Australia and encourages dog owners to spay or neuter their pets to prevent unwanted and uncontrolled breeding.

Today, Sia Furler is one of the most popular Australian performers, with multiple ARIA Music Awards and an incredibly successful career as a songwriter.
