Sid-Ahmed Bouzián: A French Midfielder with Algerian Roots
Early CareerSid-Ahmed Bouzián, a French footballer, was born to Algerian parents who emigrated to France. Bouzián began his youth career with Italian club Sampdoria.
Professional Debut and Italian Football
In 2002/03, Bouzián made his Serie A debut for Sampdoria against Venezia, featuring as a substitute for the final 28 minutes. After his contract expired, he joined Serie D club Solbiatese, scoring one goal in 15 appearances.
Swiss Adventure
Bouzián joined Swiss club Chiasso in 2007 but only played four games. In January 2005, he joined La Chaux-de-Fonds, where he spent three seasons. He became the club's top scorer in his final season, netting 16 goals (15 in the Swiss Challenge League).
Servette Success
In September 2007, Bouzián was acquired by Servette. An early knee injury prevented him from making an immediate impact, but he became a regular starter the following season. In September 2008, he recorded a hat-trick in a Swiss Cup match against Echallens. However, another knee injury in February 2009 sidelined him for the remainder of the campaign. After his contract expired at the end of the season, Servette did not offer him an extension.
