Biography of Skandar Keynes
Skandar Keynes, born Alexander Amin Casper Keynes in 1991 in London, is a British actor known for his role as Edmund Pevensie in the fantasy film series "Chronicles of Narnia". He is the descendant of renowned naturalist Charles Darwin, although unlike his distant relative, Keynes openly expressed his disbelief in God.

Early Life and Family
Skandar Keynes was born to Zelfa Hourani, his Lebanese, Persian, and Turkish mother, and Randal Keynes, a well-known writer. He has an older sister named Soumaya Anne Keynes, who has also pursued a career in the arts as a participant in various radio dramas on BBC Radio 4. On his father's side, Keynes comes from a family of academics, including his grandfather Richard Keynes, a physiologist, and his two uncles, Simon Keynes, a historian, and Roger Keynes, a neurologist. He is also distantly related to the naturalist Charles Darwin.

Acting Career
Keynes auditioned for the role of Edmund Pevensie in the film "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" while simultaneously auditioning for the role of Simon Brown in the film "Nanny McPhee". He was ultimately cast in "The Chronicles of Narnia" but faced challenges during filming due to his puberty. As a result, some scenes with his character were voiced by his sister, Soumaya. Keynes continued to portray Edmund Pevensie in the sequel "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" and the third installment "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader".

Education and Personal Life
From 2000 to 2005, Keynes attended the Anna Scher Theatre School. He then enrolled in a private boys' school in London in 2005, where he served as a film critic for the school newspaper, "The Citizen". After obtaining his General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) in May 2008, Keynes began his pre-university studies. He studied biology, chemistry, mathematics, and history. In October 2010, Skandar Keynes was admitted to Pembroke College, Cambridge, to pursue a degree in Arabic and Middle Eastern history.
Keynes considers Lebanon, particularly the town of Marjeyoun, his second home despite being denied Lebanese citizenship due to the country's laws. He has visited Lebanon every year, even during times of political unrest. He maintains a strong connection to his Lebanese heritage and family. Keynes is also a devoted fan of the English football club "Arsenal".
