In 2002, actress and filmmaker K. Louise Middleton wed musician Anatole Rosinsky, and on June 7, 2003, the couple welcomed their daughter, Alexis. Three years and three days later, on June 10, 2006, Sophia Danielle was born. The sisters grew up immersed in creativity, fostering an artistic passion that would shape their futures.
Sophia holds her family dear, often showering them with affection on social media. She affectionately refers to her parents as "larger-than-life humans," expressing immense love and gratitude. Her older sister is her "best friend," a constant source of support, and an inspiration alongside other women in her family. Her paternal ancestors hail from Ukraine and are of Jewish descent. Growing up, she was captivated by stories of pogroms, the Holocaust, World War II, and the hardships they endured. She takes great pride in her grandmother Mina, who survived the Holocaust along with her mother Nina and brother David, and her grandfather Bob, a World War II veteran born in 1925.
Film Career
Sophia's cinematic journey began at the tender age of five with a brief appearance in the short film "Abracadabra!" followed by a role in "Pedigree." She went on to star in "Zoe and the Prince," which triumphed at the 48 Hour Film Project. In the horror film "Beyond the Gates," she portrayed Lucy, a daughter rescued from danger.
While the film garnered mixed reviews, Sophia's performance earned her accolades at the Young Artist Awards and Young Entertainer Awards. She shared the screen with her sister in "Our Little Secret" and made cameos in various short films. Her career gained momentum with a recurring role in the Disney Channel comedy "Fast Layne."
Since 2017, Sophia has frequently collaborated with her sister Alexis, co-founding the production company StellaLuna Films. They have produced award-winning short films and are currently preparing for their first feature-length film, "Knightley Island."
Personal Life
Despite her rising stardom, Sophia chooses to keep her personal life private. She refrains from sharing details about romantic relationships but often expresses her fondness for loved ones, including actress Bette Davis, actor Alec Guinness, and author Antonio Iturbe.
Sophia promotes her friend and colleague Sandy Robson's writing and proudly showcases her beloved cat, Benita. She has visited Hollywood's "Walk of Fame" and shared a photo taken beside Shirley Temple's star.
Recent Endeavors
On July 29, 2022, Sophia graced the screen in the sci-fi drama television series "Paper Girls," based on the comic book series of the same name. In portraying the role of Mac Coyle, she expressed initial nervousness due to the character's foul-mouthed nature.
Currently, Sophia continues to collaborate with her mother and sister on various projects: "Where is She Now?" (a solo performance of "Shakespeare's Monologues"), "Open Window," "Who is Pepi Mildred?," and "The Seagull."
