A Family of Skiers
American skier Kaitlynn Caldwell comes from an illustrious sporting family. Her grandfather, John Caldwell, competed in ski jumping at the 1952 Winter Olympics. Uncle Tim Caldwell competed in cross-country skiing at four Olympics (1972-1984). Father Sverre Caldwell is a renowned ski coach in the United States. Mother Lilly Caldwell was a member of the U.S. Junior Ski Team and participated in the World Junior Championships.
Early Career and World Cup Debut
Caldwell's competitive skiing career began with her World Cup debut on December 8, 2012. In March 2014, she achieved her career-best result of third place in a World Cup sprint. She has also secured four top-10 finishes in World Cup races, two each in individual and team sprints. Caldwell's highest overall World Cup ranking is 87th, which she achieved in the 2012-13 season.
Olympic Success
Caldwell represented the United States at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. She finished 32nd in the 10 km classical race, sixth in the sprint, and eighth in the team sprint.
World Championships
Caldwell has participated in one World Championships, where she placed 20th in the sprint at the 2013 edition.
