Biography of Stanislav Minakov
Early Life and EducationStanislav Minakov is a poet, prose writer, essayist, translator, and journalist. He was born in 1961 and spent his childhood in Belgorod, Russia. Minakov completed his secondary education at School No. 19 and then attended the Industrial Technical College, specializing in television technology and radio relay communication. Later, he studied at the Radio Engineering Faculty of the Institute of Radio Electronics in Kharkov, Ukraine, now known as Kharkov National University of Radio Electronics. In 1983, he graduated from the institute and began working as an engineer at the T. Shevchenko Kharkov Instrumentation Plant, where he was involved in the commissioning of automated control systems for nuclear power plants. Minakov also worked as a circuit designer in a design bureau, developing cryogenic medical electronic equipment.
Literary and Publishing Career
From 1990 to 2005, Minakov was engaged in editorial and publishing activities. He worked as a member of the board of the Kharkov Organization of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine and led the annual seminar for young writers called "Young Slobodzhan Region" in the section of Russian poetry. He was also the initiator and publisher of the Kharkov youth literary and artistic almanac "Levada" for several years. Minakov played an important role in organizing and participating in various international poetry festivals, including the International Festival of Contemporary Poetry in memory of Boris Chichibabin and the Kostroma International Festival of Contemporary Russian Poetry. He served as a judge and participant in the International Voloshin Literary Festival-Contest in Koktebel.
Journalism and Awards
In addition to his literary pursuits, Minakov has been involved in journalism since 2000. He has written numerous articles on social, cultural, and legal issues, which have been published in newspapers such as "Vremya," "Kharkiv'iani," "Sobytiye," "Objective-No," "Slobidskiy Kray," "Nash Belgorod," "Belgorodskie Izvestiya," and the magazine "Kharkov. What? Where? When?" He has also contributed to websites such as "Russkaya Liniya." Minakov has received several awards and recognitions for his literary and journalistic work, including the Kharkov Municipal Prize named after B. Slutsky, the "People's Recognition" award, the International Arseny and Andrei Tarkovsky Prize, the All-Russian Literary Prize named after the Kirievsky Brothers, and the winner of the network competition of spiritual poetry at the St. Philaret Institute in Moscow. He was also the winner of the "Cultural Hero of the 21st Century" competition in Kiev and the winner of the competition for the best translation of Vladimir Nabokov's English poem "Ode to a Model." Minakov's talent and contributions to literature have been widely recognized and celebrated.
