Early Life and Priesthood
Stanislaw Kubski, a blessed of the Roman Catholic Church and a martyr, was born in 1876. In 1897, he enrolled at the Theological Seminary in Gniezno, where he was ordained a priest on November 25, 1900.
Pastoral Ministry
Father Kubski served as a vicar in Srem (1900-1901) and later as a pastor in various parishes in Gniezno and Inowrocław. Throughout his ministry, he focused on charitable work, providing assistance to the poor, the intelligentsia, and the working class.
World War II and Martyrdom
Arrest and ImprisonmentWith the outbreak of World War II, Father Kubski was arrested by German occupational forces on September 8, 1939, and sent to the Dachau concentration camp. On November 21, 1939, he was transferred to the Buchenwald concentration camp, where he remained imprisoned until his death.
Death and Beatification
On May 18, 1942, Father Kubski perished in Buchenwald with a transport of disabled prisoners. On June 13, 1999, he was beatified by Pope John Paul II along with other Polish martyrs of the war.
Legacy
Blessed Stanislaw Kubski is remembered for his unwavering faith, compassion, and selfless service. His feast day is celebrated on June 12.
