Kazimierz Nycz
Early Life and CareerKazimierz Nycz, a Polish Catholic priest, was born in Stara Wies, Poland. He pursued higher education and obtained a doctorate in philosophy in 1972 and a habilitation degree in 1980. Nycz became a professor in 1989 and served as rector of the Catholic University of Lublin from 1989 to 1998.
Episcopal Career
In 1999, Nycz was appointed Bishop of Płock and served in that capacity until 2006. On December 6, 2006, he was named Archbishop of Warsaw and assumed the position on January 5, 2007. However, he declined the formal installation ceremony scheduled for January 7, 2007.

Nycz faced allegations of collaborating with Polish secret services during the communist era, including reporting on his colleagues at the Catholic University of Lublin. Despite these accusations, he has received accolades and recognition, including the title of Honorary Citizen of Pułtusk.
