Early Life and Career

Henry Bacon, a native of Great Britain, dedicated his life to the sport of wrestling. His exceptional skills led him to numerous accomplishments, culminating in his triumph at the 1908 Summer Olympics.

Olympic Triumph

1908 London Games

At the 1908 London Games, Bacon competed in the freestyle wrestling competition in the weight class up to 73.0 kg. Displaying remarkable prowess, he emerged victorious from all four of his matches, securing the Olympic gold medal. He also stepped into the ring for the Greco-Roman wrestling event in the same weight class but was eliminated in the round of 16.

Subsequent Olympic Appearances

Bacon continued his Olympic journey, participating in the 1912 Stockholm Games in Greco-Roman wrestling (75.0 kg) and the 1920 Antwerp Games in freestyle wrestling (75.0 kg). However, his subsequent appearances did not yield the same success, as he was eliminated in the second round of both tournaments.
