Club Career: Early Beginnings at Nuremberg

Kiessling began his professional career with Nuremberg, having progressed through their youth ranks. He had previously honed his skills at the youth academy of FC Eintracht Bamberg. In 2002, he signed a six-year contract with Nuremberg after scoring an impressive 13 goals in 21 games for their reserve team. His professional debut came in April 2003 in a home defeat to Hamburg. He scored his first goal in March 2004 in a 2-2 draw against Greuther Fürth. Kiessling played a total of 77 games for Nuremberg, scoring 17 goals.
