Biography of Stefanie Voegele

Stefanie Voegele, a Swiss tennis player, has participated in a series of WTA tournaments during the first five months of 2009. Unfortunately, she was unable to win any matches in the main draw during this time. She has also taken part in ITF tournaments. Voegele is fluent in three languages - German, English, and French. In 2008, she made her debut in the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament, but was defeated by Flavia Pennetta in the first round. In June, Voegele traveled to Birmingham and reached the quarterfinals, defeating Ekaterina Makarova along the way. However, her debut at Wimbledon was short-lived as she had the misfortune of meeting Venus Williams in the first round. In July, Voegele achieved decent results in several tournaments. She reached the second round in Prague and made it to the semifinals in Portoroz. In the 2009 US Open, Voegele not only qualified for the main draw but also won her first-round match against Alberta Brianti. However, she was unable to defeat Francesca Schiavone in the second round. In 2010, Voegele participated in all four Grand Slam tournaments. She was eliminated in the first round in France, the United States, and Wimbledon, but reached the second round in Australia by defeating Melinda Czink. Unfortunately, 2011 was not a successful year for Voegele in terms of Grand Slam tournaments as she failed to progress beyond the qualifying rounds. She lost to Lesia Tsurenko in Australia, Carla Suarez Navarro at Wimbledon, and defeated Lenka Wienerova but was ultimately defeated by Aleksandra Wozniak in the United States. Voegele's best performance this year came in France, where she managed to win two matches in the qualifying rounds. Voegele's performance in 2012 was slightly better as she made it to the main draw in Australia and the United States, but was eliminated in the first round both times.
