Early Life and Education
Born on January 2, 1952, in Oleshiv, Ukraine, the future politician completed his "Jurisprudence" degree at the Kharkiv Law Institute's forensic-prosecutorial faculty in 1976. He went on to pursue his postgraduate studies there, graduating with an apprenticeship in 1979 and a doctorate in 1992.
Parliamentary Service
Third Convocation (1998-2002)Serving as a member of the Ukrainian Parliament during this term, he also held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada from 2000 to 2002.
Fourth Convocation (2002-2005)
Elected from constituency No. 177 in the Kharkiv region, he worked within the "Democratic Initiatives" and Social Democratic Party of Ukraine (United) factions.
Role in the 2004 Presidential Election
During the 2004 presidential elections, he represented Viktor Yanukovych in the Supreme Court, reflecting on his promise to be included in the Party of Regions' electoral list.
