Early Life

Stefanie Anne Hsu was born on November 25, 1990, in sunny Los Angeles, California. Her Chinese ancestry traces back to her grandmother, who immigrated to Taiwan amidst the turmoil of war. Hsu's mother sought a better future in America, where she eventually met her future husband and had Stefanie. After graduating from Palos Verdes Peninsula High School in Rolling Hills, Hsu pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Experimental Theatre at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Before venturing into Hollywood, she joined the non-profit group Atlantic Theater Company.

Film Career

Hsu's cinematic debut came in 2004 with the Chinese-American drama series "Dandelion." After a brief hiatus, she reemerged in Liz Kerin's 9-minute short film "Obelisk Road" (2009). In 2010, Hsu starred in Jacob Chase's romantic comedy "4EyedMonster," receiving critical acclaim for her performance.

Television Breakthrough

From 2011 to 2016, Hsu gained traction with appearances in short films, music videos, and minor television roles. Her breakthrough came in 2016 when she joined the cast of Jessica Goldberg's drama "The Path." For three seasons, she played the significant character of Joy, sharing the screen with Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan.
