Early Life and Education
Born on February 13, 1964, in Cohasset, Massachusetts, the future astronaut embarked on his educational journey, graduating from Cohasset High School in 1982. His path led him to the United States Naval Academy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1986. In 1993, he furthered his academic pursuits at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, completing a Master's degree in Ocean Engineering.
Navy Service
Prior to his astronaut career, the astronaut served in the United States Navy, most notably aboard the nuclear-powered submarine USS Virginia. This experience honed his technical skills and provided invaluable insights into sub-aquatic operations.
NASA Astronaut Career
