Stephen Spinella, an American participant in various talk shows and a well-known actor, was born on October 11, 1956 in Italy. His father served in the United States Navy as an aircraft mechanic. Stephen grew up and received his education in Glendale, Arizona. Even then, he was one of the brightest school actors, capable of portraying a variety of characters on stage.

Stephen Spinella graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Dramatic Arts. Shortly after, he enrolled in New York University where he met the aspiring playwright Tony Kushner.
