Steve Tisch is an American businessman, television and film producer. He is the chairman, executive vice president, and co-owner of the New York Giants, a professional American football team in the National Football League, as well as a television and film producer.

Early Life and Career

Steve Tisch was born on February 14, 1949, in Lakewood, New Jersey, USA. He attended Tufts University while starting his career in the film industry. In his early years, Tisch served as a producer for several small films with the support of the American film and television company, Columbia Pictures. In 1976, he left the company and created his first feature film, "The Burning Bed," a drama starring Peter Fonda and Susan Saint James.

Producer and Success

Continuing to evolve as a producer, Steve released the dramedy "Risky Business" in 1983, where actor Tom Cruise played his first leading role. For television, he produced the drama "The Burning Bed" in 1984, which sparked controversy and earned the late actress Farrah Fawcett eleven Emmy nominations for her role as an abused wife.

In 1986, Steve's own production company earned recognition and specializes in producing films for the small screen. However, Tisch also became a producer for several critically acclaimed films, including the renowned movies "Forrest Gump," "American History X," and "Snatch." The drama "Forrest Gump," starring Tom Hanks, won six Oscars and a Golden Globe, becoming one of the highest-grossing films in history.

Current Endeavors

Currently, Tisch is a partner at Escape Artists, a film production company that receives funding from independent sources. Through Escape Artists, he released the film "The Weather Man" in 2005, starring Nicolas Cage and Michael Caine, and the heartwarming drama "The Pursuit of Happyness" in 2006, starring Will Smith and his son, Jaden Smith.

Some other projects of Tisch include the drama "Seven Pounds," again with Will Smith, the sci-fi action film "Knowing," another collaboration with Nicolas Cage, and the crime action film "The Taking of Pelham 123" starring Denzel Washington and John Travolta.

Steve Tisch is the only person to have won an Academy Award and a Super Bowl, making him a unique figure in both the film and sports industries.
