Ashley Aston Moore: A Talented Canadian Actress

Ashley Rogers, known professionally as Ashley Aston Moore, was born on September 30, 1981, in Sunnyvale, California. She was the daughter of Cynthia Moore, a certified caregiver, and James Moore, who played a minimal role in her life. Ashley had two younger brothers, Aaron and Jason.

From an early age, Ashley showed a passion for acting. At the age of four, with her mother's consent, she appeared in a commercial. Her mother, brothers, and close friends always supported Ashley's dream of becoming an actress. However, she had to transition to homeschooling to pursue her acting career.

The family later moved from California to the Canadian province of British Columbia. When Ashley turned five, Sid Kozak, who worked in a casting agency and later cast actors for Hollywood movies, recommended Ashley for a role in a commercial for the Canadian food company, 'B.C. Chicken.' Ashley's memorable performance as a chicken in the advertisement led to more opportunities in the industry. She began appearing in television shows, stage plays, and movies.

In 1992, at the age of eleven, Ashley landed the role of Alpha in the fantasy series 'The Odyssey,' which aired for three seasons from 1992 to 1994. She appeared in 37 out of 39 episodes. She also starred in the television drama 'Liar, Liar,' portraying the sister of the main character, who accuses their father of sexual abuse. Ashley's other notable roles include the film 'Sin & Redemption' and the TV movie 'Family of Strangers.'

However, Ashley gained widespread recognition for her role as Chrissy DeWitt, the younger version of Rita Wilson's character, in the film 'Now and Then.' The movie follows the lives of four women who were childhood friends. Despite the challenges of gaining weight and dyeing her hair red for the role, Ashley embraced her character and became a role model for teenage girls.

After 'Now and Then,' Ashley received numerous invitations and actively pursued her acting career. However, in 1997, she decided to take a break from her professional life and enrolled in college. During her studies, Ashley occasionally appeared in student films made by her friends.

Unfortunately, Ashley Aston Moore passed away on December 10, 2007, at the age of 26. According to her brother Jason, she died from pneumonia and severe bronchitis. However, other sources suggest that her death was a result of a heroin overdose. Despite her untimely demise, Ashley's talent and contribution to the entertainment industry will always be remembered.
