Stephen Patrick Morrissey, the vocalist and leader of the English rock band Morrissey, is an icon of alternative rock. He is considered the smartest, most misunderstood, most revered, most underrated, most charming, and the last English pop idol. As the lead singer of The Smiths, a groundbreaking band in the mid-80s, Morrissey, along with guitarist Johnny Marr, was the main creative force. Despite their short existence, The Smiths not only became superstars in their home country but also had a decisive influence on English rock music of the 90s, which is commonly known as Britpop. Apart from their music, The Smiths are also remembered for their intelligent lyrics.

After parting ways with Marr due to creative differences shortly after the release of their best album, "The Queen Is Dead" (1986), Morrissey embarked on a successful solo career. Albums such as "Viva Hate" (1988), "Your Arsenal" (1992), and "Vauxhall And I" (1994) received rave reviews from critics, and Morrissey continues to be a prominent figure in British music. His latest album, "You Are The Quarry," was released seven years after his previous album and was produced by Neil Finn, known for his work with pop-punk bands Blink-182, Sum 41, and Green Day. The album features guitarists Alain Whyte and Boz Boorer, who have been collaborating with Morrissey for over a decade.
