Early Life and Career
Stipe Lapić, a Croatian footballer, was born and raised in the town of Sinj. He honed his skills in the youth academies of local clubs "Glavice" and "Junak Sinj," before joining the renowned "Hajduk Split" academy. Lapić's talent caught the attention of Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven, where he further developed his abilities.
Professional Debut in Croatia
In 2003, Lapić made his professional debut for Dinamo Zagreb, where he played 25 matches. However, his stay was short-lived, and he was loaned out to Russian club "Kuban" in 2004. Despite playing only one match for the main team, Lapić gained valuable competitive experience with Kuban's reserve squad.
European Journey
After his stint in Russia, Lapić embarked on a European journey, joining Austrian club "Pasching" in 2005. He made 12 appearances for the Austrian club before moving to Moldova in September of the same year. Lapić became the first Croatian to play in Moldovan football, signing a two-year contract with "Zimbru Chisinau."
Success in Moldova
At Zimbru, Lapić established himself as a key player, helping the team win two Moldovan Cup titles and finish as runners-up in the Moldovan championship twice. However, a dispute over contract conditions and unpaid bonuses led him to depart the club in 2007.
Return Home and International Experience
Lapić returned to Croatia and joined "Šibenik," where he played 26 matches and scored one goal. He then played for "NK Slaven Belupo" before making a surprising move to South Korean club "Gangwon" in 2009. Lapić also represented Croatia at the youth international level.
