Stirling Moss was born on September 17, 1929, in London, United Kingdom. He grew up in a well-known and respected family, with his father Alfred Moss being one of the best British dentists. Alfred Moss was also a racing enthusiast and wanted his children to share his passion for fast driving. Although Stirling struggled with academic subjects, he decided to dedicate more time to racing.

In 1947, Stirling Moss made his debut on the racetrack, driving his father's BMW 328. Recognizing his son's natural talent, Alfred Moss supported Stirling's racing aspirations and even agreed to purchase a new car for him. In 1950, Moss achieved his first victory by winning the Tourist Trophy. The following year, he signed a promising contract with the HWM team and made his Formula 1 debut in Switzerland. Moss quickly gained a reputation for his professionalism and talent.

In 1953, Moss impressed Enzo Ferrari, who invited him to join his team. He then secured a place in the renowned Mercedes team in 1955. Moss's first Formula 1 victory came at the Targa Florio track, followed by a win at the Mille Miglia. In 1961, he triumphed in Monaco. Towards the end of his career, Moss raced for Rob Walker's team, primarily driving Cooper and Lotus cars.

Unfortunately, Moss's successful career came to an abrupt end in 1962 when he was involved in a serious accident that caused severe head injuries. After a lengthy rehabilitation, Moss decided to retire from professional racing. The accident marked a turning point in the talented racer's career.
