Early Life and Career BeginningsStuart Maxwell Whitman was born on February 1, 1928, in San Francisco, California. His family's constant relocation forced Whitman to attend over twenty different schools. After graduating high school, he served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for three years before enrolling in Los Angeles City College.

Personal Life
From 1952 to 1966, Stuart Whitman was married to Patricia Lalonde, with whom he had four children: Tony (born 1953), Michael (born 1954), Linda (born 1956), and Scott (born 1958). In 1966, he married Frenchwoman Caroline Boubis, with whom he had a son named Justin.
