Education
From 1996 to 1998, Suhrab Makhmudov served in the Kazakh Armed Forces. In 2002, he graduated from the T. Ryskulov Kazakh Economic University with a degree in Accounting and Auditing. He then pursued a degree in Law from Eurasian Technological University, graduating in 2015.
Career
Makhmudov began his career as an Engineer at Chevron Munaigas Inc. in 2000. In 2002, he became the General Director of Avtodom-T.
In 2002, he co-founded Orbis Kazakhstan Holding and has been its President ever since.
Automotive Industry
In 2014, Orbis Kazakhstan launched Toyota City, the largest dealership in Kazakhstan, under the leadership of Suhrab and his brother, Farrukh Makhmudov. In 2018, the company established HINO MOTORS KAZAKHSTAN, the official distributor of HINO trucks in the country, and invested 1 billion tenge in developing its dealership network.
In 2019, Orbis Auto opened Cadillac Almaty, a new dealership representing Cadillac and Chevrolet in Kazakhstan. The investment in the project exceeded $4 million.
By the end of November 2019, Orbis Auto held a significant market share of almost 13% in the Kazakh automotive retail sector.
Awards and Recognitions
In 2020, Suhrab Makhmudov received the Medal in Honor of the 120th Anniversary of Kazakhstan's Oil Industry and the Badge of Honor from the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
