Early Life and Education
Nitza Madar was born in the city of Beltsy, Moldova. She completed her education at the Beltsy Pedagogical Institute, earning a degree in psychology.
Emigration to Israel and Early Career
In 1991, Madar and her family immigrated to Israel. She found employment at the Leumi Bank in 1994. After becoming a member of the municipal council of Arad, she gained prominence in local politics.
Ascent to Mayor of Arad
In 2007, Madar became the deputy mayor of Arad as a member of the Yisrael Beiteinu party. Her career took a significant turn in 2010 when she was elected as mayor of Arad. She was reelected in 2014.
Knesset Deputy and Vice-Speaker
From 2015 to 2019, Madar served as a deputy and vice-speaker of the Knesset representing the Kulanu party. She joined the Likud party in 2020 and currently holds the position of chair of the Ethics Committee.
