Biography of Tamsin Egerton
Tamsin Olivia Egerton was born in 1988 in Hampshire, England. Following in the footsteps of her older sister, Sophia, Tamsin began acting in theatre at the age of 6. At the age of 7, she joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in their production of "The Secret Garden".
Early Career
In 2001, Tamsin appeared in the television films "The Mists of Avalon" and "Hans Christian Andersen: My Life as a Fairy Tale". The following year, she starred in the series "Napoléon". In 2005, Egerton appeared in the British comedy film "Keeping Mum". She received the role in the teen comedy film "Driving Lessons" in 2006, and that same year, she appeared in the series "Mayo".
Rise to Fame
Egerton's career continued to grow with roles in the television comedy "The Abbey" and the teen comedy "St. Trinian's" in 2007. She landed the lead role in the thriller "Knife Edge" in 2009, and then worked on another television project called "St. Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold". The film is set in a school where the students are far from disciplined.
Recent Works
Among Egerton's most recent works are the series "Money" and the 2010 comedy film "Chalet Girl", a production of Germany, Great Britain, and Austria. Also in 2010, Tamsin appeared in the crime thriller "4.3.2.1". Her latest work is the historical fantasy series "Camelot", in which she played one of the key characters.
Personal Life
Tamsin attended Ditcham Park School near Petersfield in Hampshire. She recalls being bullied by her classmates during her time at school. Later, while studying acting, she worked as a babysitter and shared an apartment in London with two friends. She was romantically linked to theatre producer Jamie Hendry and they lived together in Hampstead.
Tamsin considers Takeshi Kitano to be her favorite director and dreams of starring in a martial arts film. It is also known that she dated footballer Andy Jones.
