Early Life and Career
Born to RaShawn and Tai Davis, Tara Davis emerged as the youngest of five children in Agoura Hills, California. Her athletic prowess blossomed at Agoura High School, where she shattered six school records and set state records in numerous events.
In 2015, she captured gold in the long jump at the World Youth Championships. A year later, she narrowly missed qualifying for the US Olympic team. However, she rebounded in 2017, securing three medals at the Pan American Junior Championships.
Collegiate Career
Davis matriculated to the University of Georgia in 2017. Her collegiate debut saw her place fifth in the long jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. She also competed in the 100m hurdles.
After transferring to the University of Texas in 2018, Davis missed a season due to NCAA eligibility rules. However, she returned with a vengeance in 2020, winning silver in the 60m hurdles and bronze in the long jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
In 2021, she became a double NCAA champion, triumphing in the long jump both indoors and outdoors.
Olympic and International Success
Davis's Olympic debut came at the 2021 Tokyo Games, where she finished sixth in the long jump. At the 2023 World Athletics Championships, she claimed silver with a leap of 6.91 meters.
Personal Life
Davis met Paralympian Hunter Woodhall in 2017. They announced their engagement in September 2021.
