Biography of Taras Bahynets
Organist and laureate of international competitionsTaras Bahynets is an organist and laureate of international competitions in Germany, Russia, and Lithuania. He is also the winner of the All-Russian Open Organists Competition in 2007 and a soloist of the Sverdlovsk State Academic Philharmonic.
Education and Training
Bahynets graduated from the Kharkiv Institute of Arts in 1998, specializing in piano and organ under the guidance of Professor S.Yu. Yushkevich. He honed his skills under the tutelage of leading European professors such as Heinrich Walter (Germany), Michael Radulescu (Austria), Hans Fagius (Sweden), Sigismund Satmari (Germany), Ludger Lohmann (Germany), Martin Boecker (Germany), and Wolfgang Zerer (Germany).
Professional Experience
From 1996 to 2002, Bahynets served as a soloist at the House of Organ and Chamber Music of the Kharkiv Philharmonic in Ukraine. Since 2002, he has been a soloist at the Sverdlovsk State Academic Philharmonic in Yekaterinburg, Russia. His performances have been recorded for TV, radio, and CD. Bahynets has given concerts in Ukraine, Russia, Germany, France, Sweden, Denmark, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia, Moldova, Austria, and Italy.
International Organ Competition Awards
Bahynets has achieved numerous victories and awards in international organ competitions, including:
- First Prize at the 5th All-Russian Open Organists Competition in 2007
- Winner of the 1st International Oleg Yanchenko Organists Competition in Russia in 2002, recipient of a special prize from the St. Petersburg Philharmonic named after D. Shostakovich
- First Prize at the International Organists Competition in St. Petersburg in 2005
- Second Prize at the International M. Tariverdiev Organists Competition (Moscow-Hamburg-Kaliningrad, 2005)
- Second Prize at the A.F. Gedike International Organists Competition (Moscow, 2008)
