Thelma Hopkins began her career as a backing vocalist for the 1970s pop group "Tony Orlando and Dawn". She later transitioned into television in the 1980s, appearing in sitcoms such as "Bosom Buddies" (as Isabelle Hammond) and "Gimme a Break!" (as Eddie Wilson).

Breakthrough and Continued Success

In 1989, Thelma introduced herself to a new generation of viewers as the owner of Rachel Crawford's restaurant in the sitcom "Family Matters".
