Early Life and Tragedy
Baigaliev was born in 1912 in the village of Kung-Chygysh (now known as Bokonbaevo). At the tender age of four, he became an orphan, as his parents were tragically killed during an uprising against Russian authorities.
Wartime and the Birth of a Writer
During World War II, Baigaliev served as a rifleman in the 1st Air Army. He played a pivotal role in the capture of Berlin and Königsberg, and commanded three echelons that transported war trophies between Berlin and Moscow. It was during this time that he began to write his first literary works.
Post-War Contributions
After the war, Baigaliev worked on a collective farm and in several schools, eventually becoming the director of several secondary institutions. His poems were published in various newspapers and magazines throughout the republic, while many of his works remained in manuscript form and are preserved in his family's archive. One of his most notable poems, "Zalkar and Zharkyn," was published in 1992.
Recognition and Legacy
Baigaliev joined the Union of Writers of Kyrgyzstan in 1993. He passed away in the autumn of 1998 at the age of 86. Baigaliev received a prestigious burial at the family cemetery in Bokonbaevo. The Chairman of the Union of Writers of Kyrgyzstan expressed his deep regret for not having encountered such a talented individual sooner, comparing his works to the masterpieces of Shakespeare and Pushkin.
