Theodoros Zagorakis, a Greek footballer, made his debut for the national team in 1994. He holds the record for the most matches played for the national team, having worn the blue and white jersey over 80 times. Prior to Euro 2004, the Greek national team was referred to as the "team without stars". However, after becoming the champions, the team was filled with stars, including their captain Theodoros Zagorakis. This midfielder from AEK Athens was named the best player of Euro 2004.

Zagorakis was born on October 27, 1971. He began his career at the club Kavala, where he played 114 matches. In the 1992/93 season, he moved to the more prestigious club PAOK. He rarely sat on the bench and often scored decisive goals. He made his debut for the national team in 1994 and became the record holder for the most matches played, wearing the blue and white jersey over 80 times.
