American Actress of Stage, Film, and TelevisionTeresa E. Randle was born on December 27, 1964, in Los Angeles, California, USA. She began her career by studying various forms of dance including traditional, contemporary, and jazz. Randle attended the Beverly Hills College as part of a special program for exceptionally talented individuals.
After completing her studies, Teresa Randle landed her first role at the Los Angeles Inner City Cultural Center, a cultural center in the old district of the city. She then appeared in various commercial projects. As she pursued her acting career, Randle performed in theatrical productions such as "In Command of the Children," "Sonata," "Fight the Good Fight," and "6 Parts of Musical Broadway."
In 1978, Randle made her breakthrough on the big screen with the role of Dori in the comedy film "Maid to Order." Over the next three years, she appeared in movies such as "Near Dark" (1987), "Easy Wheels" (1989), and "Heart Condition" (1990), where she worked alongside renowned actor Denzel Washington. She continued her acting career with minor roles in Abel Ferrara's crime thriller "King of New York" (1990) and William Friedkin's horror film "The Guardian" (1990). Randle also worked in Robert Townsend's musical film "The Five Heartbeats" in 1991, portraying the character Ines. She later appeared in Spike Lee's romantic drama "Jungle Fever" (1991) as Ines and in Lee's film "Malcolm X" (1992) as Laura.
In 1993, Teresa Randle became a star of the ensemble cast in the musical film "CB4." The following year, she played the role of Melissa in Leon Ichaso's thriller "Sugar Hill," where she acted alongside Wesley Snipes. In the same year, she appeared alongside Eddie Murphy in the comedy film "Beverly Hills Cop III."
In 1995, Randle starred with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in the crime detective film "Bad Boys" and its sequel "Bad Boys 2" in 2003. In 1996, she received her first leading role in Spike Lee's film "Girl 6," playing a young carefree African American actress who fails to achieve success in New York City and instead becomes a phone sex operator.
That same year, Randle worked on an unusual project that combined live-action and animation. She appeared in the family fantasy comedy film "Space Jam," where she acted alongside basketball superstar Michael Jordan. In 1997, she showcased her acting skills as Wanda Blake in the film adaptation of the popular comic book "Spawn." Randle was also cast as Patricia Kent in the television series "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" but only appeared in two episodes.
In 2000, Randle appeared in the drama film "Livin' for Love: The Natalie Cole Story," which depicted the true life story of Natalie Cole. In 2006, she played the character of Captain Amy Jennings in the action film "The Hunt for Eagle One" and its sequel "The Hunt for Eagle One: Crash Point."
Currently, Teresa Randle is a regular member of the lifetime show "State of Mind," a dramatic series based on the novel by Amy Bloom, where she portrays the character of Dr. Cardelia Banks.
