Biography of Tim Finn
Tim Finn is an Australian rock musician who was born on June 25, 1952, in Te Awamutu, New Zealand. His full name is Brian Timothy Finn. He attended Sacred Heart College, a Catholic school in Auckland. In 1971, he enrolled in the University of Auckland to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Politics. It was during his time at the university that Finn formed a student band with his friends Mike Chunn, Robert Gillies, Philip Judd, and Noel Crombie, playing rock music. Finn eventually realized that music was more important to him than his studies and dropped out of university in 1972. A few months later, Finn and Philip Judd formed their own group, which they named "Split Ends." It was during this time that Brian Timothy Finn adopted the stage name Tim Finn. After a year and their first trip to Australia, the group changed its name to "Split Enz."

Early Career and Split Enz
Split Enz's musical style was difficult to categorize, as it incorporated elements of eclectic and wildly original rock, art rock, vaudeville, swing, punk rock, and glam rock, drawing influences from both rock and pop music. From 1972 to 1977, Tim Finn and Philip Judd took turns as the band's frontman. When Judd left the group, he was replaced by Tim's younger brother, Neil Finn.

Solo Career and Personal Life
In 1983, Tim Finn released his debut solo album, "Escapade," which achieved immense commercial success in New Zealand and Australia. Encouraged by this success, he decided to leave Split Enz and pursue a solo career in 1984. In 1985, Finn relocated to London, where he recorded his second album, "Big Canoe," which failed to replicate the success of his first album.
In January 1981, Tim Finn married Australian dancer Liz Malam. However, their marriage ended in divorce in October of the same year. Throughout the 1980s, Finn had a close relationship with Australian actress of Italian descent, Greta Scacchi, until she married American actor Vincent D'Onofrio in 1989. During his time with Greta Scacchi, Tim Finn had cameo roles in the film "The Coca-Cola Kid" and a substantial role in the film "La Donna della Luna." He also participated in voice acting for films.
Currently, Tim Finn is married to television presenter Marie Azcona, who hosts the "Music Week" program on MTV and TVNZ One's channel, dedicated to talented performers. Finn and Azcona have written the soundtrack for the film "Steel Cities" and collaborated on several songs with Mike Chunn. They have two children together, a son named Harper and a daughter named Elliott.
