Early Career
Gebhart began his football career in the youth team of his hometown club, SpVgg Fürth. In 2006, he joined the youth team of 1. FC Nuremberg.
1. FC Nuremberg
After progressing through the Nuremberg youth ranks, Gebhart made his first-team debut in January 2009. He made a total of 16 appearances for the club during his three-year stay, scoring two goals.
VfB Stuttgart
In January 2009, Gebhart signed a contract with Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart, effective until June 30, 2013. He made his debut for the club against FC Zenit Saint Petersburg in the UEFA Cup. In his first season, he scored his first goal for Stuttgart in the same competition.
Bundesliga Debut
Gebhart made his Bundesliga debut for Stuttgart on March 1, 2009, against Karlsruher SC. The match ended in a 2-0 victory for Stuttgart, with Gebhart playing the first 60 minutes.
Later Career
After leaving Stuttgart in 2013, Gebhart had spells at FC Augsburg, 1860 Munich, and Würzburger Kickers before returning to Nuremberg in 2017. He has since become a regular in the Nuremberg midfield.
