Biography of Timofey Shishkanov
Timofey Shishkanov is a Russian ice hockey player and coach. He was born on May 19, 1983. Shishkanov is predominantly a right winger and began his career as a player in the Moscow-based team, Spartak.
Early Career
In 2001, Shishkanov was drafted by the NHL team, Nashville Predators, in the second round as the 33rd overall pick. He subsequently played for various teams including the Quebec Remparts in the QMJHL from 2002 to 2003, the Milwaukee Admirals in the AHL from 2004 to 2006, the Peoria Rivermen in the AHL in 2006, and the St. Louis Blues in the NHL in the same year. Shishkanov also briefly played for Vityaz in Chekhov in 2007 before joining CSKA Moscow in 2008.
Achievements
Throughout his career, Shishkanov achieved several notable accomplishments. He was a champion at the World Junior Championship in 2001 and the World U18 Championship in 2003. Shishkanov was also a member of the winning team at the Calder Cup in 2004, which is the second most prestigious team trophy in North America. Furthermore, he was selected for the AHL All-Rookie Team. Shishkanov was a part of the Russian national team that won the Karjala Cup in 2006/07 and 2007/08.
NHL Career
Shishkanov had a brief stint in the NHL, playing a total of 24 games. He scored 3 goals, made 2 assists, and accumulated 6 penalty minutes. In 2011, he played for the Siberia team but was later traded to Atlant during the season.
Later Career
On May 19, 2014, Shishkanov joined the newly formed KHL team, Sochi. From November 28, 2015, he played for the Sakhalin team.
