Biography of Timothy Ferriss
Timothy Ferriss is an American author, entrepreneur, speaker, and angel investor. He holds an unusual record for the most number of spins in tango. Before his writing career, he deceitfully became the champion of a kickboxing championship. In 2007, Ferriss published his book "The 4-Hour Workweek," which became a bestseller on the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today lists. The book remained a bestseller for seven years. His other works, "The 4-Hour Body" and "The 4-Hour Chef," were also widely published.

Entrepreneurship and Investments
Ferriss is a successful angel investor, preferring startups and high-risk projects with high profitability. He is also an advisor to companies such as Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, Evernote, and Uber. In December 2008, Timothy made a pilot video for the History Channel, where he tried to prove that one can master a specific art form in a week instead of many years. In the pilot episode, Ferriss practiced yabusame, a ritual horseback archery.

Early Life and Education
Timothy Ferriss was born on July 20, 1977, in East Hampton, New York. He studied at St. Paul's School and earned a degree in East Asian Studies from Princeton University in 2000. Initially, Ferriss worked in sales for a company that utilized data storage systems. However, the business was not doing well, and his salary was not satisfactory. Gradually, Timothy built his own internet business by founding an online company called "BrainQUICKEN" in 2001, which sold dietary supplements like "BodyQuick" and "Brain Quicken." According to advertisements, these supplements dramatically increased short-term memory and reaction speed within 60 minutes of consumption. Ferriss sold "BrainQUICKEN" to a London-based private equity firm in 2010.

Writing Career
When Ferriss finished writing his book "The 4-Hour Workweek," he struggled to find a publisher for a long time. He faced 25 rejections before Random House, a book publisher, entrusted its subsidiary, Crown, to release the book in 2007. The book, which focused on effectively managing one's time, propelled the previously unknown Ferriss to international fame. Its full title can be translated as "The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich." The book sold approximately 1.35 million copies and received both positive and negative reviews. Leslie Garner from The Telegraph praised the book's "punchy writing style and higher level of literacy than most self-help gurus."
Personal Life and Achievements
Ferriss is known for applying Pareto's Principle, or the 80/20 rule, and Parkinson's Law in his personal life and business. He also advocates for the idea that new technologies, such as email, instant messaging, and internet-connected smartphones, complicate rather than simplify life. Timothy currently resides in San Francisco, California, and claims to speak six languages. He was inducted into the Guinness World Records for the most consecutive spins in tango within one minute, a record he set with his dance partner, Alicia Monti, on a talk show. Before his writing career, Ferriss claimed to have won the Chinese kickboxing (sanda) championship in 1999. He competed in the under 75 kg weight category and pushed his opponent out of the ring during the match. However, what made it remarkable was that Ferriss "cut" weight through rapid dehydration before the weigh-in and then rehydrated before the fight, competing in a different weight class and securing an easy victory.
