Early Life and Education

Talgat Akhilevich Apendiev was born on October 6, 1989, in the village of Kegen, Almaty Oblast, Kazakhstan. From 1997 to 2007, he attended Kzyltu School No. 3 in Kegen. In 2007, he graduated with honors and enrolled in the history faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

During his undergraduate studies, Apendiev completed military training at the university's military department and earned the rank of Senior Sergeant. He also pursued a second bachelor's degree in Accounting and Audit at the University of Foreign Languages and Business Careers.

In 2011, Apendiev enrolled in the history faculty's master's program and graduated in 2013 with a Master of Arts in Humanities. Subsequently, he enrolled in the doctoral program (PhD) at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University's faculty of history, archeology, and ethnology. He completed his doctoral dissertation ahead of schedule and defended it successfully.

Professional Career

Apendiev's professional journey began in 2013 as a research associate at the Department of World History, Historiography, and Source Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. He later held positions as a junior research associate (2013-2015), research associate (2017), senior research associate (2018), head of the history of modern Kazakhstan department (2019), chairman of the Young Scientists' Council of the Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology, and lead researcher (2019). From 2020 onwards, he has served as the head of the department of historical demography and the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan at the Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology.

From 2015 to 2017, Apendiev worked as a leading specialist at the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He then became an assistant to the President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan and scientific secretary of the Ethics Council under the NAS RK (2017-2018). In 2018-2019, he served as head of the international relations department and assistant to the President of the NAS RK, while also acting as secretary of the Ethics Council under the NAS RK. Since 2020, he has held the position of head of the department of scientific and organizational work at the NAS RK and scientific secretary of the Ethics Council under the NAS RK.

Publications and Recognition

Apendiev is a highly esteemed scholar and author. He has published over 50 scientific articles, including two monographs, in domestic and international journals of high reputation (Thomson Reuters, Scopus). He is also the author of the monograph "Factory Industry of Turkestan" (2018). Additionally, he serves as the editor of eight academic journals of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which are distributed worldwide to 73 countries.

Apendiev has received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to the field of science. In 2018, he was awarded the state scholarship for young scientists. In 2019, he was honored with the "Best Specialist" badge for his inclusion in the Republican Encyclopedic List of Best Employees in Education and Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the title "Altyn Kitap" by the Golden Globe International Academy of Education, Science, and Culture.
