First Points in the World Cup
Tiril's first full season in the World Cup began at the sixth stage in Antholz, Italy, where she competed as a member of the Norwegian elite team. She finished 54th in the sprint (2+2) and did not participate in the subsequent relay and mass start races. On the next stage, she finished 45th in the sprint (0+2) and dropped two positions in the pursuit, finishing 47th. She did not qualify for the World Championships in Ruhpolding.
On the final stage of the season in Khanty-Mansiysk, Tiril performed exceptionally well. She achieved her best career result at that time, finishing 20th in the pursuit and qualifying for the mass start. She secured an impressive seventh place in the mass start. Thanks to her successful performance in Russia, Tiril significantly improved her overall World Cup ranking, finishing the season in 54th place. She earned 74 points in the season, all of which were acquired in Khanty-Mansiysk.
Full Season in the World Cup
In the 2012-2013 season, Tiril participated in all nine stages of the World Cup. Her first two stages in Östersund, Sweden, and Hochfilzen, Austria, were unsuccessful, and she did not earn any World Cup points. In five individual races, her best result was 44th place in the pursuit. She did not participate in the victorious Norwegian relay.
Tiril managed to earn her first World Cup points of the season at the third stage in Pokljuka, Slovenia. She finished 18th in the sprint (1+0) and dropped four positions in the pursuit, finishing 22nd with five missed targets (1+0+1+3). Her decent results allowed her to qualify for the first mass start of the season. In the race, she performed well on the first two shooting ranges, but missed six targets on the last standing shooting, finishing 19th.
On the traditional stages in Oberhof, Germany, Ruhpolding, Germany, and Antholz, Italy, Tiril participated in only four races: three sprints (65th, 24th, 54th) and one pursuit (improving from 54th to 29th place).

Following the decision of the International Biathlon Union's Anti-Doping Committee on June 30, 2015, the results of the stage in Östersund were revised. Tiril moved up to fourth place in the individual race and 35th place in the sprint.
The second stage of the season did not go well for Tiril, as she finished 43rd in the sprint and 24th in the pursuit. In the relay, the Norwegian team only managed to secure fifth place.
