Early Life and Education

Tleubek Nurmuratov was born on July 10, 1938, in the village of Zhana Kogam in the Almaty region of Kazakhstan. He belongs to the Matay clan of the Naiman tribe of the Middle Zhuz.

He received his higher education at the Kazakh Agricultural Institute, where he began his scientific research career after graduation. In 1970, he defended his scientific thesis on "Insect Pests of Saxaul."

Career

Nurmuratov has held numerous prestigious positions in the field of agricultural science:

- Chief Scientific Secretary of the Presidium of the Eastern Branch of the VASKhNIL (1981-2000)

- Director of the Kazakh Research Institute for Plant Protection (1981-2000)

- Deputy General Director of the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC)

- Vice President of the Agricultural Science Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan

- Coordinator of the UNEP/GEF project on biodiversity conservation (2006-2014)

Academic Achievements

In 1997, Nurmuratov defended his scientific thesis on "Ecological Basis for Protecting Pastures of Deserts in Southeastern Kazakhstan from Harmful Insects and Rodents." He was awarded the scientific title of "Doctor of Biological Sciences."
