Early Life and Career at Vojvodina

Todor Veselinović, a Yugoslav footballer and coach, was born in Novi Sad and began his career with the local club Sloga, later renamed Vojvodina. He spent 13 years at Vojvodina, making over 190 appearances and scoring more than 120 goals, a club record. He also served in the military, during which time he played for Partizan Belgrade, scoring 50 goals in 53 matches.

Success with the Yugoslav National Team

Veselinović made his international debut for Yugoslavia in 1953, scoring 28 goals in 37 appearances. He achieved his greatest success with the team at the 1956 Olympics, where he finished as the tournament's top scorer and led Yugoslavia to the final, where they lost to the Soviet Union.

Career in Europe and Return to Yugoslavia

In 1965, Veselinović left Yugoslavia to play for Sampdoria in Italy. He also had stints in Austria with First and Austria Klagenfurt and in Belgium with Union. He ended his playing career back in Yugoslavia with Proleter Zrenjanin.

Coaching Career

After retiring as a player, Veselinović briefly worked as an assistant coach at Vojvodina. He then moved to Colombia, where he coached Independiente Santa Fe to the Colombian championship in 1971. He also coached the Colombian national team.

Veselinović returned to Yugoslavia and coached Vojvodina, Olympiacos, and the Yugoslav national team. He led Yugoslavia to the 1984 European Championship, but the team performed poorly, losing all three matches.

Success in Turkey

After his tenure with Yugoslavia, Veselinović moved to Turkey, where he coached Gaziantepspor, Bakirköyspor, and Karşıyaka. His most successful period in Turkey was with Fenerbahçe, where he won two league championships.
