Tokozha Mukanovich Kozhangulov: A Pioneer in Art and Education
Education and Early CareerTokozha Mukanovich Kozhangulov, born in the Almaty region, began his artistic journey at the Kazakh Pedagogical Institute named after Abai, graduating in 1984. He subsequently served as a lecturer at the Dzhambul Pedagogical Institute from 1984 to 1987.
Academic Excellence
Since 1987, Professor Kozhangulov has dedicated himself to teaching at the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai. Throughout his career, he has held various administrative positions, including Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Graphics (1991-1994 and 1994-1996), Deputy Head of the Department of Academic Painting (1996-2008), and Head of the Department of Painting (2008-2018). In 2019, he assumed the role of Director of the Institute of Arts, Culture, and Sports at KazNPU.
Professor Kozhangulov's scholarly pursuits have focused on the development of painting skills in art students. In 2007, he successfully defended his dissertation at Omsk State Pedagogical University, earning a Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences degree. He is the author of numerous scientific papers, a monograph, and teaching manuals, and has contributed to the development of curriculum for art programs.
Artistic Achievements
Kozhangulov's artistic creations have been showcased at numerous exhibitions, including regional, national, and international platforms. In 1989, he became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR and the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan. His remarkable talent was recognized with the prestigious "Daryn" National Youth Award in 1998. He has also received the international Jambyl and Mukagali Makataev prizes for his artistic excellence.

Kozhangulov's artwork has gained international acclaim. His paintings are displayed in museums and private collections across the globe, including Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, the United States, Turkey, Germany, Japan, the Baltics, and Kazakhstan.

Professor Kozhangulov's contributions to art and education have been widely acknowledged. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the "Еңбек Ыстазы" badge from KazNPU for his exceptional teaching, and the Certificate of Honor from the Abai State University. Through his unwavering dedication to fostering young artists and advancing the field of education, Tokozha Mukanovich Kozhangulov has left an enduring legacy in the world of arts.
