Early Career

In 1995, Thomas Danilevičius embarked on his football journey in Belgium, joining the modest club K.V. Beveren. He spent his first season with the youth team before being promoted to the first team of Belgian giants Club Brugge.

European Travels

During his time at Brugge, Danilevičius trained with the senior squad and made occasional appearances in the league and European competitions. He also played alongside fellow Lithuanian Tomas Daumantas at Brugge.

In 1999, Danilevičius was loaned out to FC Dynamo Moscow, followed by a stint with FC Lausanne-Sport in Switzerland. At Lausanne, he helped the team reach the finals of the Swiss Cup, scoring a goal in the final against FC Zürich.

Arsenal Adventure

After a successful trial with Arsenal in 2000, Danilevičius signed a contract with the London club. Despite facing fierce competition from the likes of Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp, he made two appearances and provided one assist.

However, Danilevičius's stay at Arsenal was disrupted by a passport controversy. Following a scandal involving other players with Greek passports, Arsenal suspended Danilevičius from training. While some speculate that Arsenal orchestrated the Greek passport for him, others believe that the club simply sought to avoid further controversy by removing him from the team.

Loan Spells and Return to Beveren

Danilevičius spent the second half of the 2000-01 season on loan at Dunfermline Athletic in Scotland. After a brief return to Lausanne, he was sent on loan to his former club Beveren. In Belgium, he finally enjoyed a full season as a regular, finishing as their top scorer.

Serie B Adventure

Danilevičius signed for U.S. Livorno in 2002, spending two seasons in Serie B while battling injuries. In the 2004-05 season, when Livorno was promoted to Serie A, Danilevičius made history as one of the first Lithuanians to score in the Italian top flight.

He was later loaned out to U.S. Avellino, where he had a successful year, scoring 17 goals in 37 appearances. Danilevičius returned to Livorno and briefly regained his starting role, but eventually fell back to the bench.

Bologna and Beyond

In 2006, Danilevičius joined Serie B club Bologna FC. Despite failing to secure promotion with Bologna, he attracted interest from other Italian clubs. At the age of 29, Danilevičius's career was still on an upward trajectory, with the potential for further adventures in European football.
