Edison Flores: Peruvian Football Star
Early Career and DebutEdison Flores, a Peruvian footballer, began his professional career at Universitario in 2011. After leading the youth team to victory in the Copa Libertadores U-20 and earning the title of best player, he was drafted into the first team. On August 1, he made his Peruvian Primera debut against Juan Aurich, replacing Andy Polo in the second half.
Move to Spain and Villarreal
In 2012, Flores transferred to Spanish club Villarreal. However, due to fierce competition, he primarily played for the B team. His debut in the Segunda Division came on September 30 against Badalona, and his first goal for Villarreal B followed on December 1 against Levante B.
Return to Universitario and Move to Denmark
After a stint back at Universitario, Flores joined Danish club Aalborg in 2016. He made his Superliga debut on August 15 against Esbjerg and scored his first goal for the team on August 28 against Aarhus.
International Career
Flores has represented Peru at various youth levels. In 2011, he participated in the South American U-17 Championship, scoring three goals. In 2013, he played in the South American U-20 Championship, where he scored against Brazil and Chile.
Senior Debut and Copa America
Flores made his senior debut for Peru in 2013 in a friendly against Paraguay. He scored his first international goal in 2016 against Trinidad and Tobago. Flores was part of Peru's squad for the 2016 Copa America in the United States, where he played in matches against Haiti, Ecuador, Brazil, and Colombia.
