Biography of Trish Stratus
Trish Stratus, whose real name is Patricia Anne Stratigias, is a model, television presenter, and professional wrestler (diva) from Canada. She began her career as a fitness model, appearing in advertising campaigns in the fitness industry. Afterward, she joined the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), later renamed World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where she spent seven years in the ring and won the titles of WWE Hardcore Champion (1 time), WWE Babe of the Year (three times), and Diva of the Decade. Most importantly, she became a seven-time Women's Champion in WWE, a record that remains unbroken.
Early Career in Wrestling
Trish Stratus first gained recognition in the world of wrestling in March 2000 on "Sunday Night Heat." Initially, she appeared as a manager for well-known wrestlers named Test and Prince Albert (known as the team "T & A"), and later Val Venis. However, on June 20th, Trish started competing in the ring. Her first match, alongside "T & A" against the "Hardy Boyz" and their partner Lita, ended in victory. Her feud with Lita continued for several episodes and concluded with Trish defeating her on Raw.
Towards the end of the year, Trish made several unsuccessful attempts to win the WWF Women's Championship and ended her association with Test and Albert when the team disbanded.
Rivalry and Romance
In early 2001, Trish had a storyline relationship with Vince McMahon, the chairman of WWF, which greatly angered his daughter Stephanie McMahon. As is customary in wrestling, they resolved their issues in the ring. At "No Way Out," Stephanie defeated Trish with the help of others. During a tag team match, Trish and Vince faced Stephanie and Regal, but everyone unexpectedly turned against Trish. Vince publicly announced that he was tired of his "toy" Trish. However, during the "WrestleMania X-Seven" match, Trish got her revenge on Vince during his match with Shane McMahon, gaining her a multitude of fans.
After a few successful matches, including tag team bouts, Trish Stratus took a three-month hiatus due to an injury. During her break, she co-hosted "Excess" on TNN and returned to the ring in the fall of 2001. At Survivor Series, she won the WWF Women's Championship in a series of six matches. In February 2002, she lost the title but unsuccessfully attempted to regain it for several months. During this time, she also won the WWE Hardcore Championship but lost it shortly after. However, a week after her second loss, she became the WWF Women's Champion for the third time in a tag team match. Trish then focused on singles competition. She lost the title to Molly Holly at King of the Ring, sparking a three-month feud between them. Alongside that, she also became entangled in a conflict with Victoria, both of whom were portrayed as former models, with Trish "double-crossing" Victoria. Trish regained the championship at Unforgiven but lost it again in March 2003. After the match, Victoria and Richards attacked Trish, but she was saved by Jeff Hardy, who kissed her. They then fell in love until the moment Jeff left WWE, ending their storyline.
Later Career and Personal Life
Trish Stratus continued to have rivalries and alliances, winning championships and participating in various storylines. For a time, she had a storyline relationship with wrestler Chris Jericho, and their team faced Christian and Lita. However, Trish overheard a dispute between Chris and Christian about who would sleep with their team partner first. As a result, Trish and Lita, disappointed in their behavior, challenged them to a match called "Battle of the Sexes," which the women's team lost.
In 2005, Mickie James declared herself Trish's biggest fan, and they fought together in the ring. The storyline between them until 2006 involved a same-sex love story, including a tender kiss in front of the cameras. In 2006, Trish grew tired of this storyline and subsequently had several matches against Mickie, both winning and losing, while occasionally teaming up against other opponents. In September 2006, in her hometown of Toronto, Trish had her final match, defeating the reigning WWE Women's Champion Lita and becoming a seven-time champion, setting an unbroken record.
After retiring from wrestling, Trish Stratus became involved in the World Natural Sports Association and hosted various events. She appeared on the reality show "Armed & Famous" on CBS in 2008 and launched her travel TV show called "Stratusphere." She also opened a yoga center and participated in many charitable activities. Despite receiving an offer to pose for Playboy, she declined.
In 2006, Trish Stratigias married her long-time partner Ron, whom she had been dating since high school. After their wedding, instead of a honeymoon, she went to film "Armed & Famous." The couple does not have children yet.
