Early Life and Education

Born in a Humble Background:

Abdurakhim Abdullaev was born in a rural peasant family in Uzbekistan. His father was a farmer with basic literacy skills.

Pursuing Education:

Abdullaev graduated from the Khojaly Pedagogical College in 1947. He began his career as a school teacher. In 1955, he earned a degree from the Karakalpak State Pedagogical Institute.

Literary Career

Emergence as a Writer:

Abdullaev's first poem, "Tilegim," was published in 1951 in the newspaper "Jas Leninshi." His breakthrough came with the short story "Pochtal'on kelgende" in 1955.

Shift to Prose:

In 1956, Abdullaev released his debut novel, "Sekretar." From then on, he primarily wrote prose.

Leadership in Literature

Chairing the Union of Writers:

In 1980, Abdullaev was elected Chairman of the Union of Writers of Karakalpakstan, a position he held until his death. He also became Deputy Chairman of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan and a member of the governing bodies of the Union of Writers of the USSR.

Political Involvement:

Abdullaev served as a People's Deputy of the USSR and a member of the Council of Nationalities of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR from 1989 to 1991.
