Soviet-born film director, cinematographer, and screenwriter Tolomush Orazgylyjov was born on February 19, 1938 in Peshan-Ali, Mary District, Turkmenistan.

Education

After graduating from high school, Orazgylyjov embarked on a career in filmmaking. He completed his studies in cinematography from the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in 1963 and from the Advanced Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors (VKSR) in 1978.

Career

Orazgylyjov made his directorial debut with the 1983 film "Male Education." The film garnered widespread critical acclaim and numerous awards, including the Grand Prix at the Mannheim Film Festival and the Golden Prize at the Moscow International Film Festival.
